About
THE STORY
This website was created to help people solve mold problems. With experience of being involved with Louisiana’s Flood of 2016, the information being shared will assist with recovery. The idea is to perform this step correctly so you can continue on with the following steps and not worry about it reoccur in the future.
THE GOAL OF THIS WEBSITE
In light of the disasters recently, living in your own home is the #1 priority. Since certified contractors are scarce in events like these, sometimes “Do It Yourselfers” is the only other option. If you have flood insurance, you may need to hire a contractor because of strict guidelines. In our area of Louisiana, a vast amount of the Disaster Area was not in a flood zone and didn’t require flood insurance. This event was considered a “once in a 500-year flood”. We were able to get federal loans to restore our homes and not require contractors.
Advice given on this website will allow you to safely remove mold and hopefully prevent health issues relating to it. You will not want to proceed to the next step until a test is done. Understandably, you have the anxiety of living in your own home as quickly as possible, but you don’t want black mold growing where you cook or sleep.
If you ever have any questions, feel free to leave them below and I will be more than happy to help you out.
All the best.
